Village on fire - Tragedy Day of People in Dhore VDC, Birgunj

Dhore VDC of Parsa District lies around 20 km away from the center head quarter of Sub-metropolitan City, Birganj. On the date, 13th April 2013, when people were busy in celebrating New Year in Nepal then in other part, in Dhore VDC, people were facing their biggest tragedy day. On this day, around 150 homes have completely burnt caused by natural disaster and more than 450 people are homeless now.

On very quick action of theirs local people the fire had stopped but till then all of the homes have completely burnt. People from near VDCs, different institutions including Birganj Sub-metropolitan City are still providing them support in different form like foods to eat, cloths to wear, snacks, mattress, tripals to build a temporary roof for shelter, grant etc.

But these days the status of that location is in critical state. Due to lack of balance diet, healthy environment and home to stay, the children are suffering from diarrhea whose treatment is undergoing in there’s local health post. All of them are still ongoing theirs tragedy day and they demand for home to stay where as the quantity of foods & cloths are more enough for them and now kept in store.

Basantapur

Also known as Kathmandu’s Durbar Square. This was the Old Royal Palace from the 17th and 18th Centuries. The kings were crowned here and lived in the Hanuman Dhoka, surrounded by many temples and places of worship. One architectural specialty on Nepali temples is the woodcarved roof struts, which include Tantric scenes and references to Shiva and Parvati’s creative and protective roles.
The last photo in the set is of the Kumari Bahal, where the living goddess, Kumari Devi, lives. The young girl is selected from the caste of Newari gold- and silversmiths, according to her horoscope and a list of 32 strict physical requirements. Then she moves in with her family and lives there until reaching puberty, when she’s considered to have reverted back to a normal mortal.
